ACCELERATOR. A TOP PRODUCT…AND THAT’S OFFICIAL. WINNER OF THE 2009 COMMERCIAL VEHICLE WORKSHOP TOP PRODUCT AWARD
Accelerator is celebrating after winning Commercial Vehicle Workshop magazine’s 2009 Top Product Award.
The award is given to products voted for by the magazine’s readers, as CVW is keen to reward those products that improve the working life of those in the commercial vehicle sector.
Tim Franklin, CVW editor, said: “The Commercial Vehicle Workshop Top Product Awards are an important benchmark within the industry, as they are solely voted for by the readers of the magazine.
“Accelerator emerged as one of the products that is really making the everyday life of the readers easier, safer and quicker.
“I would like to offer my congratulations to all at Accelerator for developing such a sought after product.”
Accelerator co-founder Kathleen Helliwell, said: “It is very pleasing to receive this award, especially as it has been voted for by the people who live and breathe vehicle repair and maintenance.
“We’ve always believed that Accelerator is versatile, easy-to-use vehicle maintenance software at its very best.
“Receiving an award like this is a wonderful way to realise that the industry shares our faith in Accelerator.’’
Four More For The New Year.
AcceleratorVMS has started 2010 by securing four major new customers.
The leading vehicle maintenance software system has followed 2009's successes by adding North West companies Ashton Vehicle Services and W and SC Jobson and Midlands firms Martin Motor Services Ltd and M6 Commercials to its growing customer base.
Tameside's Ashton Vehicle Services chose AcceleratorVMS - with it's recently launched haulage module - to run both its fleet and commercial workshop operations.
Bill Ashton said: "Accelerator not only makes sure that we meet all legal requirements, it also gives us a complete overview of the work we have coming up and the work we are doing now.
"So we are proactive in maintaining our vehicles to the highest standard. That way both ourselves and our customers benefit.''
Martin Motor Services went for AcceleratorVMS to help it keep up with the growing demand for its specialist prison service vehicle building and repair work.
Jack Martin said, "We are growing rapidly and needed Accelerator to organise every aspect of our business and get our invoices out quicker."
M6 Commercials chose Accelerator to support its rapidly expanding municipal vehicle repair service.
Andy Savery of M6 Commercials said: "Accelerator was a vital part of our strategy to secure a new ISUZU franchise for 2010.''
Bolton's W & SC Jobson, famous for its rescue in Peter Kay's "Max and Paddy: Road to Nowhere", chose Accelerator Recovery to run its rescue fleet.
Claire Lunt from Jobson said: "After 45 years in business, we thought it was time to get our systems up to date. The Accelerator support team installed new PC's and did everything for us, it was easy".
The quartet of new customers arrived after a year that saw Accelerator expanding faster than it ever has in its eleven-year history.
Business Development Manager Graham Helliwell believes there are a number of reasons why Accelerator is gaining so many new customers.
He said: "There are many companies unhappy with their slow or outdated systems or the poor customer support they receive. Many have even had the trauma of seeing their software suppliers go out of business.
"We know people want a better product, a better service and the security that comes with being with a supplier that will always be there for them. But we've also been keen to make Accelerator easily available to everybody. With the current economic problems, we have found ways to help companies afford it.''
Credit Crunch beater – Monthly licensing now available. July 2009
We are pleased to announce that we can now offer a new range of financial licensing options to purchase AcceleratorVMS as a complete package deal with low entry deposit costs and monthly payments spread from 12 months up to five years.
In response to market pressures, and in a direct effort to remedy an undelivered promise from government to help small to medium businesses. We are pleased to announce a range of new options that will help companies both large and small to buy AcceleratorVMS with less risk and at less overall cost.
Traditionally we have sold our software systems with full payment being made once installation is complete, either with payment directly to us or through a leasing company arrangement. For a few selected clients we have offered the option to pay a deposit with the balance over three or six months.
This option has proved very popular and has allowed these companies to spread their payments and risk over a longer period. In addition, of course, it has helped them to ease their cash flow and given them more time to balance this outgoing cost with the financial benefits and savings they gain from using AcceleratorVMS.
This new initiative now brings AcceleratorVMS within everyone’s budget and cash flow limits.
Many more companies will be able to utilise our Fleet, Workshop and Enterprise systems for a little as 7p per vehicle per day or less.
So no need to delay, order your system today.

With more than 3,000 vehicles working across the UK, Hymix wanted
a vehicle maintenance system that offered information quickly and

After trying an MRP system that seemed too complex to be of much
use, the Telford-based supplier of rapid discharge and specialist
mortar vehicles was attracted to Accelerator. Accelerator, created
and supplied by Rossendale-based company Technopoly, offers vehicle
maintenance in packages to suit all sizes and types of operations,
including commercial, HGV, PCV, light goods, civil engineering and
caravans, car and motorcycles. It is offered, readily configured
in one of three packages, Fleet for the single site operator, Workshop
for commercial vehicle repairers and Enterprise for those larger
organisations that may require multi-site capability and the features
of both of the fleet and workshop packages combined. Full
