Training FAQ’s.

If your system is so easy to use why do I need training anyway?

Of course our systems are easy to use, but just like anything else in life, to get the very best out of anything; you have to have a basic understanding of how things work first, before moving on to learn what you can do to make your job even easier.

How long will it take to get me using the system?

We have some customers who started using our system from day one. Once the installation was completed by us, we just connected to their PC’s and showed them how to start processing job sheets and they were away. It just depends how confident you are.

I want to learn everything in one day as I am a busy guy

We always try to do our best to provide as much training and support when people want it, but to be brutally honest, it’s worth investing time to have some proper training and it is unlikely that you will learn everything in just one day. That’s why we offer our training as a graduated approach with just the right amount of support when you need it.

Is there a quicker way? Do you provide a manual?

Yes we provide a full user training manual as well as quick start and individual user guides. However we have found out that most people prefer to just ring us up and book a free online training session when they’ve forgotten how to do something, or want to start using a different part of the program.

Other companies do off site training do you?

If you want a free lunch or a nice certificate then yes we will do off site training, as a side bet we guess that after the first two hours your brain will be saturated, and because you are not training on your real system you will not remember much either.

We do come to your site for training, but only after Accelerator is set up and ready to go, so we are training on your data which means you will get the most out of the session. You also have to guarantee to us that you will not be disturbed; otherwise we will be wasting everyone’s time.

What’s different about your training then?

From our past experience with many, many, customers we find that the best way to get the system up and running in the shortest possible time, is to first of all let us install it and configure it for you. This means that instead of you having to be a computer expert, you can just relax and get on with your normal daily work.

This work normally involves a remote connection to your PC’s or server which can also be used to do online training at any time.

Once the system is set up and ready to go we can come to site and work with your team directly, or if you are happy with the remote training concept, we can do things that way too.

Obviously if you are a small company this will mean taking you through most of the processes to set up a job and enter labour and parts details and then produce an invoice for the job if required.

If you are a larger company we will work with each department team member to train the workshop, store and finance people to become competent in their own requirement.

Probably to most important aspect of this site visit is not just the training, but for you to meet our trainers face to face. This helps to establish a personal relationship, which can then make remote training and support so much easier, because you know who you are talking too.

At the same time our trainers will also have a much better appreciation of your business needs as well.

What about when they have left and we have more questions?

As part of your overall system package, our first promise is to provide online support throughout the year.

Our second promise is to answer the phone in three rings and let you speak to a real person, not a press option one for training, option 2 for………

Whenever you ring for support we will either answer your question right away, if possible, or promise to come back to you with a jargon free solution that you understand, in a specified time.

What if we get someone new or need more training?

You can book online training at anytime, its free as part of your support package, just give us a few hours notice so that we can make someone available. We normally find that one hour sessions over a number of days to be the most efficient way, to both allow your people to get on with their work, and learn in a practical and meaning full way at their own pace.

The Accelerator team recognise that every company is different so a ‘one size fits all’ approach to training just doesn’t work. Training takes time and effort from the workforce that a company owner is paying for and inappropriate training can be a waste of that time, money and effort. Training must be suited to the tasks facing a workforce, arranged to fit around their duties and delivered in a way they understand. Good training is one of the best ways to gain the most from staff and guarantee workshop efficiency.
